Coastal Warriors

News

Coastal Warriors had their 2nd birthday in July 2019. In the two years of operation Coastal Warriors have hosted 22 clean ups and collected over 74,000 pieces of rubbish that potentially would have ended up in the ocean. From humble beginnings in 2017, Coastal Warriors now have over 250 registered active volunteers and have completed great projects along the way.

Seabins Update- August 2019

Installation of two seabins was a completed project in April 2019. Port Macquarie Marina received two seabins to collect marine debris floating in the water. Coastal Warriors funded one seabin and Hastings Council funded a second seabin through the EPA litter grants program. The seabins are collecting a lot of micro plastics, cigarette butts, plastic water bottles along with styrofoam balls. The rubbish collected from the seabins is collated and provided to the seabin foundation for continued research.
